Words.

Oakley always has so much to say.  Sometimes she gets in these moods where she will just jabber on and on.  She knows exactly what she's saying but makes no sense to us. I love it. She can say so many words now.  And she now can sort of tell us what she wants by "talking", more like grunting. These are some of the words Oakley is saying:

bebe- baby, puppy, (any stuffed animal)
mo- more
peez- please (she says it when she wants mo)
mew- what a cat says
mmmm- what a cow says and when she sees food
cheeeeees- when taking pictures and the food
mommy and daddy
eyes-
toos- toes
behbe- belly button.

She definitely knows more then she can say and there's tons more that if we ask she will know what we are talking about just can't say it yet.

She is one smart baby I'd have to say! Growing up everyday.

Oakley's birthday party!

We had Oakley's party a week after her birthday since her birthday was on Labor Day weekend. We did it at my aunt Diane's house cause our house is not really big enough for lots of people. I love how everything turned out! I started planning like 2 months before. I'm not a party thrower so I was nervous it would just be stupid. So many people came to show love for my little baby! It was a great day!!

This is not a great picture but this is what was above the big table.

The dessert table.

Balloons!

Her cake! I ended up making two, 5 layer cakes. The first one tasted awful!!!
Oh, and it started melting in the car ride there:( So that's why it is sagging and kind of ugly at the bottom.

The inside!

She loved it!

Oakley is ONE

So, it has been a wayyy long time since I've posted anything. I'm lazy, I know. Lots has happened since last time.
Oakley is growing up so much it's crazy. She has gone from a cute, precious little baby to a sassy, happy, silly, loving (the list could go on), toddler. She loves to go, go, go! Here's a list of all the fun stuff Oakley is up to.

-Has been walking since about a week or so before her birthday, and perfecting it more and more every day!

-Loves turing off the TV with the side button. (We had to scoot the TV over cause it was happening way too much)

-She will eat anything we are eating but if I make her her own food she gets to be a little more picky.

-She likes to push stuff around. (she got a shopping cart for her birthday so it's perfect)

-LOVES books. She will bring us book after book and sit in our lap and read. The book she brings most often is the most non-baby book she has, The Ox Cart Man.. haha

-She loves sitting on things! We got her a tiny chair for her birthday and she is sitting in it all the time.

-She likes eating her breakfast in her chair.

-Likes to cuddle with her dog and baby. (Not for long though)

-Loves going outside.

-Loves sitting on the front step stepping on ants and leaves.

-Loves picking up crab apples from the lawn and bringing them to us.

-LOVES her daddy more then anything! She gets so excited when he walks through the door!

-Loves yo gabba gabba, All my friends are different song.

-Always wanders the house. Her favorite room is the kitchen in the treat cupboard.

-Talks all the time in her cute jibberish language.

-Words she says: Daw (dog and other random stuff), Mo (More), Mom, Da, Ba (She says it to a lot of things), MMMM (anytime she sees food), NO (that is her all time favorite word) That's all I can think of at the moment. She is a real talker though.

-She has a hard time sharing with other kids. She's not around kids very often.

-She is finally sleeping through the night. We did cry it out and now she will go to bed (still cries for a minute or two) and sleeps till morning. It is fabulous! She was sleeping with us every night.

-She really likes taking baths. She will only get in on her terms though. So sometimes we have pee accidents on the tub carpet while waiting for her to get in.

-Loves to laugh.

-Loves to be silly.

-Loves peek a boo. Even with strangers at stores and restaurants.

This girl is seriously the most fun adorable happiest child! I am so blessed to have her. I LOVE her so much I can't believe she is mine. This year has gone by so fast and I can't wait to watch her grow and learn this next year!

I will post some more recent pictures of Oakley soon!

Warm Chicken Salad

I made this way tastey salad for dinner today. When I was cooking it and added the dill I thought it smelled funny so I thought it might taste wierd but it didn't at all and it was so delicious! It was super easy and fast too!

Seven Peaks

We went to Seven Peaks for the first time of the season. The weather was almost perfect. When the wind would blow it would make it a bit chilly. But other then that it was pretty nice! Oakley slept the first part of the day then when we woke up we took her to the water and she loved it. She just sat and let the waves hit her. Then she started crawling around. It was so cute. We can't wait for this summer and going to Seven Peaks ALL the time:)

College Grad

May 28th Jon graduated from Westminster College with a bachelors of Science! I am so proud! He has worked so hard for this and I am so excited for him. He is done with his undergrad but now on for more schooling! He plans on going to the University of Utah to study public health.

We woke up early to go to a breakfast Westminster has every year for graduates. There was a band playing and the food was delicious! It was a very good time.

Then we went to our place and waited to head out to the Maverick Center for the graduation. It was a long ceremony and Oakley barely lasted sitting long enough for us to see Jon get his diploma. Then we waited outside for it to finish up to take pictures. Those pictures are on the camera and I haven't got a chance to load them..darn.

Then to finish off the day we went to Tucanos for dinner. I LOVE that place. It is so good. But I always seem to get sick in the middle of the night after I eat there.. Shooot!

Graduation day was a success. Me and Oakley are so proud of the main man in our life! We LOVE you Jon!

This is Oakley's cute dress she got for the graduation. SO CUTE!

NINE months! Holy cow!!!

Oh my! She's growing up so fast, it's crazy! There are a TON of pictures, but you know what they say..a picture is worth a thousand words.. So you will be getting a million words!
Here's just some things Oakley is doing now a days:
-Crawling at lightning speed.
-Climbing and moving around on everything she climbs on.
-Thinks she is so funny with every little thing she does.
-Still eats solids way good. Slowly trying new things.
-Sits up like a champ.
-LOVES MOMMY AND DADDY!!!

And now for the pictures!!!

She slept with us a couple times...
she ends up taking up the whole bed, kicking us off!

At the zoo in Idaho Falls.

Fell asleep listening to lullaby's on my phone haha.

Meeting Jon's cousin Adam for the first time.
She was very tired so she was in no mood to meet anyone.

One of the many things she does that she just laughs at her self.
She loves peek-a-boo, with anything.
She was laying next to me in bed and ended up
crawling up by me and just sitting next to me

4 AM party time!

Runs away after bath time!
She hates laying still to get her diaper and clothes on.
What kid doesn't love being naked!?

Falling asleep in the car. Just getting comfortable.

She was like this forever. Just reading her ABC's.

Climbing on everything. I have a feeling she will stand soon.

MMM puffs...what a mess!

She loved that thing!

VEGAS baby!!!

In the middle of May me and Oakley packed up and flew to Vegas. Jon went to Portland for a conference thing with his parents. I didn't want to stay home alone so I decided to go visit my friend Alex for a few days!

Oakley fell asleep while we were taxiing around before take off and stayed asleep the whole way. It was very nice. Flying alone with a baby is definitely easier then I thought.
We had a lot of fun just visiting and hanging out. It was fun catching up and seeing Alex. They were so nice and such great hosts!

We didn't do all that much but it was still a good time! It was a nice break from Salt Lake, even though the weather was almost worse there then in SLC. Oh well!
Thanks Mulcocks for letting us stay!

Getting ready for take off!

Kinsley reading to Oakley.

Five Guys in Vegas! Go IDAHO!

Oakley 8 months.

Oakley is growing up so fast I can't even believe it! She is 8 and a half months now and has learned some new tricks. She is now crawling EVERYWHERE! She still doesn't use her knees that much but is starting to more and more.

She is a monkey and loves to climb onto anything she is able to. When we are in the room she will climb up onto her crib and stand.

She sure is turing into a curious little thing. She is starting to follow when we leave the room which is nice when that happens cause she usually cries every time I leave the room for even just a second.

She has one tooth that has broke through and today I discovered another one that looks like its trying to break through.

She is still loving her solids.

She has such a fun personality and is very happy all the time, but when she's not in the mood she can be very sensitive and cry at the littlest things.

She loves people, from a distance. She definitely loves mom and dad and doesn't really want anyone else to hold her.

She is sitting up really well too, it took her awhile and she is still wobbly. She's more of a crawler then a sitter.

Here's what Oakley has been up to lately, in pictures.

Playing in the cupboard at Aunt Diane's

On the move.

Playing on her new play mat at Grandma Decker's.

Where's dad? Oh, in the kitchen!

Loving the monkey at the zoo.

Fun merry-go-round at the zoo.

Laughing at the rhino.

She loves giraffes.

MMM, pears.

That cupboard again. It can keep her entertained for ever.
She tried climbing in it this time.

Swinging at the park.

Passed out after the REAL Salt Lake soccer game.

She doesn't like getting dressed after bath time.
She would rather climb up her crib while naked.

Playing on some mats.

Oakley 7 Months

Well Oakley's 7 months have come and gone. On the first of May she will be 8 months. I can't even believe it! She sure is a character these days. She has the cutest, funniest personality. She will laugh at so many random things, such as people having a conversation.

She is such a smily baby. She will smile at any stranger walking by looking at her. She is so friendly, but only if mom or dad is holding her. She is coming up with the case of separation anxiety. My mom tried to baby sit her this last weekend and she had to call us to come get her because nothing would make her stop crying. Once we got there she had finally calmed down, thanks to my cousin's fiancee. My mom said when we got there Oakley was a different baby compared to when we were gone. Sad. I guess this means no babysitters for awhile.

Oakley has started crawling! She doesn't go up on her knees to do it so it is more of an army crawl. But she is learning to get up on her knees, she just doesn't go anywhere when she is up. She can certainly get anywhere she wants to now. It is so cute to watch her crawl. She is getting super fast.

She loves to play games. Her favorite is when dad brings her over to grab something and then she drops it and expects him to bring her down to pick it up...and then drop it again. This can go on for awhile. Another game she likes to play is sort of similar. She will take these little snap toys out of the container one by one. It is amazing to watch her learn simple things like this. She did the same thing at church today. Jon was holding her by her diaper bag and she took out her diapers one by one. I was laughing so hard trying not to be loud. It was so funny, I didn't realize we had so many diapers in there. I guess we just don't realize there are already diapers in there so we put more in just to make sure we have enough.

We love this little girl so much and can't ever say enough how much we love her. She teaches me so much and I am so grateful to get to stay home with her all day long and watch her learn and grow.

Other news... Jon is GRADUATING May 28th. He is finishing up his last final tomorrow and has a presentation on Tuesday then he will be done and gets to walk at the end of the month. He still has one class he has to take this summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But he gets to walk in May because he is already registered for this class. I am so proud of him for all the hard work he does to get through school.

That is all for now. We have some fun trips in May that will hopefully be blogged about after they come and go:) We are excited!

Oakley is 6 Months Old!

We took Oakley to her 6 month appointment yesterday. I can't believe how big she is getting! Everything was perfect with her at the doctor and she is growing just how she needs to be.
She weighs about 13 pounds and is 26.5 inches long. So she is in the 10th percentile for weight and 75th for height! We have a tall and skinny little thing!
She is so fun to have around. She is getting to be quite entertaining. She will laugh at the weirdest things like me poofing my hair and brushing my teeth. She loves to watch people do anything. She is starting to explore everything! She can't crawl yet but she can roll anywhere she wants to go. She is also scooting herself around. She can turn in a complete circle by doing that, especially in a slippery tub.
She has started eating rice cereal and just had her first taste of green beans last night. She loves it! She doesn't make a funny taste when she eats it. She just opens her mouth right up!
She is talking so much more. Her words are so cute.
She is just getting over RSV. It was the saddest thing to see her feel so sick. She lost her voice which was so cute but more sad. She was a trooper. It messed up her sleeping but we are slowly getting back to normal. She is still coughing but she is doing so much better!
I can't wait to see what these next months will bring us. She is such a perfect baby and we can't say enough how much we love her!

Lovin the snow.
